Feeling sluggish even after sleeping for hours? The cause can be some kind of deficiency or disease, but, there can be other reasons why you feel tired all the time.
1. YOUR SLEEP RHYTHM IS DISTURBED
We try every day to get at least 8 hours of sleep. The ideal sleep hours should be between seven and eight hours a night. This is very crucial as people who are continually sleep deprived tend to put on weight.
But usually many of you don’t know that our sleep rhythm also plays a crucial role. Constantly going to bed at a different time every day has a negative impact on the health (just like sleeping too little).
TIP: if you are facing irregular sleep pattern, try to sleep at the same time every day. Give your internal clock time to get used to the time change and sleep pattern, it may take up to two weeks
2. YOU’RE NOT EATING RIGHT
Are there days when you forget to eat just because you don’t have time and you have to meet the deadlines? Eating very little makes you feel very weak & the same thing goes for eating too much, opting unhealthy foods. Excess of simple carbohydrates (like white bread, sodas, and sweets), drain our energy because these foods provide the body with fake calories. Your blood sugar levels rise rapidly for a short time because the pancreas is pumping out insulin like crazy and soon they will fall as fast as they rose and this makes you lazy.
TIP: Eat a well balanced a diet as possible & avoid consuming too much coffee. Yes, coffee! it makes you tired! It’s true that coffee initially stimulates the production of adrenaline, but this only lasts for a while, leaving you feeling more sluggish afterward than you did before the cup of coffee.

3. YOU’RE NOT DRINKING ENOUGH
Headaches or fatigues are just two of the effects of not drinking enough fluids (obviously not coffee or sodas) body is made up of more than 60% water? If we do not drink enough water, our metabolism slows down and our body shifts into low and lazy gear. Thus, it is no surprise that we feel like a koala bear.
TIP: try to consume at least 3-4 liters of water in a day.
4. YOU’RE NOT EXERCISING ENOUGH
Exercise makes the heart pump faster which boosts the metabolism and increases circulation. you have to make the energy yourself if you want more of it. People who get too little exercise feel lazy.
TIP: get moving! Park your car farther away, take the stairs instead of the elevator or do some body-weight exercises on your next lunch break.
5. YOU’RE NOT GETTING ENOUGH LIGHT
You are bursting with energy during summers. But on grey and gloomy days, do you feel like just curling up in a ball on the couch because you’re so low-energy? The reason behind this is that you are not getting enough light. Darkness can cause the body to release the sleep hormone melatonin making you feel dizzy
TIP: Spend as much time outside as possible. On cloudy days also you will get more light outside than in the office or in your home. Go for a walk on your next lunch break or hold your daily walking meeting outside. Don’t close the curtains in your bedroom, this will let some light into your room in the morning and help your body prepare to get up and start the day.

6. YOU ARE STRESSED
An e-mail here, a call there, a notification on your cell phone… we are practically available all the time. And that is increasing stress! This is really wearing our body down.
The reason is that our brain has to constantly decide which sensory impressions are important and which can be ignored. Without this essential mechanism, we would drown in a giant flood of information. The problem is the more stimuli the brain has to process, the harder it has to work.
Thus, the next time you are feeling lifeless or a bit dull, try taking a break from the internet and all the media around you. Sometimes, it helps to schedule regular e-mail times and turn your cell phone off in the evening.
